Two more prints that were taken from a fishing trip. Robert goes on fishing trips not to fish but to take photos. I think he thinks he will fish, and he does for a minute or two but then becomes so enamored with the scenery that he lays down his pole and concentrates on the scenes that he will take back to the studio to paint. When he comes home his excitement isn’t for how many fish he caught, but for how many good painting ideas he has captured on his camera.

Clover Lake/Wind River Series
The last two summers Robert, Luke and Sam (our sons) along with friends have backpacked into the Wind River Range of Wyoming. It is very wild and remote with great fishing. It is the kind of fishing every fisherman dreams of, throw in your line and pull out a fish. Over and over and over. Everyone was catching fish. Everyone except for Robert. He couldn’t fish, there was too much awe-inspiring scenery to look at and take pictures of. Boulders and Clover Lake are a result of the first trip to the Wind Rivers.

Chalk Creek
Today I’m going to shamelessly promote the first print. It is Fall, for just a little while longer, so lets start with a “Fall” painting. Chalk Creek is one of my all time favorite paintings of Robert’s. It was a beautiful day and we were on a fun bike ride (suprise!) when we stumbled upon (or should I say “rode”) upon this scene. It is printed on high quality Epson ultra smooth fine art paper. It comes in two sizes, 20″ x 24″ for $125.00 and 8″ x 10″ for $50.00 and that includes shipping, tax, etc. What a deal!
